Well, "tis the season" and it's less than 24 hours away . . . with that note I thought I would do some Christmas baking . . . these shortbreads have been a tradition in my family for years . . . so easy . . . try a batch yourself . . . here's the recipe . . .

1/2 cup of corn starch
1/2 cup of icing sugar
1 cup of all purpose flour
3/4 cup of butter softened (I use Kraft Parkay squares)

Sift together the corn starch, icing sugar ad flour. Add the butter slightly softened and mix until a soft dough is formed. I use my Kitchen Aid. Then roll into a long roll and chill for an hour or so. Makes it easier to cut the cookies and they are more uniform in shape. Then decorate each batch differently. Bake on a lined cookie sheet (parchment paper) at 350 degrees for about 15-18 minutes. Until just beginning to brown at the edges, watch them so you don't burn them. Every oven is different, once you make your first batch you can then guage the other batches accordingly. You will love these cookies so much I recommend making a double batch.

Merry Christmas and enjoy!
