The Chinese Connection . . . Food, fashion and design are all being influenced by a subtle trade wind from Asia and the Pacific. I welcome it as an opportunity to experience new and different foods and cultures. My current favorite is Thai especially a Toronto restaurant, "Spring Rolls" across from the Eaton Centre just off Yonge. For the less adventurous there are always the old "take out" stand bys such as: Moo Goo Guy Pan, Beef with Broccoli, Honey Garlic Pork, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Almond Guy Ding, Chicken Chop Suey, and egg rolls . When I lived out west there were even regional favorites such as Ginger Beef and Palace Style Chicken. These were all modifications of traditional Chinese dishes to please the North American palate and are still favorites today.
